Showcase Features: Total conversion of the front yard started approximately three years ago with the removal of ten mature oleander plants that divided one side of the yard on the property line. A redwood fence was installed and the front yard was prepared for installation of native plants, creation of berms and drip system. A dry stream bed starts at a roof downspout and meanders toward the front of the yard. Plants included are Manzanitas, Foothill Sage, Hummingbird Fuchsia, Rosy Buckwheat, Penstemon varieties, Salvia, Toyon, Heuchera and more.

Other Garden Attractions: Berms and shallow valleys provide a perfect growing environment for a variety of native plants and creates a natural setting.

Gardening for Wildlife: Owner has noticed an increase in flying creatures - birds of all types especially hummingbirds, some butterflies and lots of bees. There may be some nocturnal animals too, based upon the digging spots. There is a plan to add a birdbath in the future to provide summer water to encourage more pollinators.
