Showcase Features: These lovely, professionally designed front and back gardens feature a native lawn, surrounded by many attractive and colorful native plant species. All the European lawn grasses have been removed and the garden is a Bay-Friendly and certified Wildlife Habitat garden. The front garden has been recently renovated in order to include more diversity of native plants. The back garden features many buckwheats and a woodland garden behind the pool.
Other Garden Attractions: Coast live oaks, deer grass, woolly blue curls, Douglas and Pacific coast hybrid iris, California fuchsias and matilija poppies thrive in an unwatered front border. Meanwhile carpenteria, western columbine, coyote bush, penstemon, and monkeyflowers receive periodic water closer to the house. The side yard contains ribes, Western hazelnut, and dutchman's pipe vine, while the back yard includes alum roots, ferns, buckwheats, and grasses. The owner is continually experimenting with new native plants.
Gardening for Wildlife: Coast live oaks, buckwheats, woolly blue curls, Douglas and Pacific coast hybrid iris, California fuchsia, ribes, western hazelnut, carpenteria, western columbine, milkweeds and boulders share the space with a bird feeders and bath.
