Designed and installed in stages, this attractive garden is packed with native treats wherever you look, including John Dourley manzanita, wild ginger, redwood sorrel, and coral bells. Go around the corner and you see a native red fescue lawn sprinkled with violets. A certified wildlife habitat, a family of skunks (so far, no problems!) live under the deck.

Other Garden Attractions: A large saltbush provides haven for finches which eat the leaves and seeds. The owner maintains the garden herself and uses the fallen redwood needles as mulch around the plants. She enjoys watching the birds, lizards, and dragonflies in the garden.

Gardening for Wildlife: Wildlife abounds: hummingbirds, finches, towhees, doves, robins, crows. phoebes, wrens, chickadees, juncos, waxwings, etc etc. In addition are a variety of bees, variety of wasps, dragonflies, spiders, etc etc., and lizards galore, skunks, possums, rats, squirrels, etc.
