GNGT 2025 Garden Submission

Note: private gardens must be submitted by their owners.

Sat, Apr 12 (South), Sun, Apr 13 (North), 2025. Hours: 10:00am to 4:00pm

The 2025 Growing Natives Garden Tour will showcase gardens with 70% or more California native plants. These gardens provide habitat for wildlife, conserve water, and are free of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. Visitors can see that beautiful native plant gardens are possible for everyone because the gardens range from small townhome gardens to multi-acre lots in the country side and include sun, shade, clay, sand, and many other conditions.

Note: private gardens must be submitted by their owners.

10:00am to 4:00pm: Sat, Apr 12, 2025 (South), Sun, Apr 13, 2025 (North)

Summary of the requirements for submitting a garden for the 2025 GNGT:

  1. You must be the owner of the garden you are submitting, and you must accept a Waiver of Liability (this is required by the tour sponsors). You will see that waiver on the next page.

  2. The garden must be in San Mateo County or Santa Clara County.

  3. At least 70% of the garden areas on tour must be California Native plants. You can submit the entire garden, or only the part that is predominantly native (e.g. front or back).

  4. The garden must not feature invasive non-native plants (see our Don’t Plant a Pest page).

  5. We must have your email address, at least for the initial tour-related communication. You can designate another person, e.g. your garden designer, to handle most communications.

  6. On tour day, a responsible adult must be on site during tour hours. In most cases, owners are available to answer questions (and receive compliments).

  7. We ask you to recruit your own helpers (docents, greeters) for the tour day. If you can't, the tour committee will help.

More information can be found on this page: How do I submit my garden to be included in the Tour?

To start the submission process, provide your email address and click the “Continue” button below.

  1. If your garden was featured on a previous tour, you will be redirected to a simplified submission page, where you will be able to submit your garden with a single click.

  2. If you are submitting a new garden, you will be redirected to a page which will ask you to provide information about the garden. That form is quite long, but you will be able to save a partial submission and return to it later if you need more time.

All personal information entered on the Garden Submission forms will be kept private. We do not share emails or phone numbers with anyone.
