What is your Privacy Policy?

We do not share your name with anyone.

Our email list is not sold to anyone, nor is it shared with any organizations.

The information that does not identify you, such as zip code, city, or “how did you hear about the tour” is aggregated to produce attendance statistics.

What happens if I cancel my registration forever?

Your name and email is erased from our database. We record the internet address from which the cancellation request was issued, the exact time of the cancellation, and what kind of web browser was used (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc). We also retain a strong cryptographic hash of your email; this makes it impossible for us to recover your email address, but if you ask “what happened to my registration” and tell us the email you used, we can tell whether and when it has been canceled.

What does the retained information look like?

Your email is replaced with something like this: 46f80dbcd940067cec49d43a577e978c@61595.black.hole

Your name is replaced with something like this: 75.37.34.8 adsl-75-37-34-8.dsl.pltn13.sbcglobal.net

The “Other source(s)” entry, where some people might have provided personally identifiable information such as friends’ names, is replaced with something like this: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)

The zip code, city, number of people in the party, and the list of checkboxes clicked in the “How did you hear about the Growing Natives Garden Tour?” section are retained, since they do not identify anything about you.

What if I want you to erase everything?

Send us an email from the address that was used for registration, requesting a total, complete removal of all information, and we’ll do so.
